Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) established the Regulatory Control Unit for the purpose of regulating all matters relating to the control of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in a manner commensurate with the radiation risks associated with facilities and activities. The overall objective of the regulatory control of radiation sources is to provide protection, safety to occupationally exposed workers, members of the public and the environment at large from the harmful effects of radiation.
